Holy Communion & Imposition of Ashes

A quiet Service of Holy Communion to mark the beginning of Lent, the time of reflection and penitence leading up to Easter Sunday. We remember from Genesis 3:19 'For dust you are and to dust you shall return' with the imposition of ashes on our foreheads. Traditionally, the ashes used on Ash Wednesday are made from burning the palms blessed in the previous year's Palm Sunday celebration.
